  Custom Face Masks

CUSTOM FACE MASKS

Orthotics Australia utilises the latest laser scanner technology when capturing the face and head for our custom face mask for both protective face masks following injury or surgery or for burns treament.

NO MORE MESSY PLASTER

The omega laser scanner is used to capture the face and then the face is modified via our omega cad cam system and a mold of the face and head is carved via our CNC mill for the mask to be vacuum formed .

Utilising cad cam technolgy allows us to have a radip turn around time from shape capture to fitting of the mask. It also gives us a permanent record of the shape capture without bulky cast storage, so if a replacement mask is required when can easily replicate it.

Once the mask is fitted if the patient is not interstate the mask is reviewed and can be spot heated to further increase the comfort when wearing. If the pateint is interstate then the mask can be posted back to us with the area marked and we can adjust it and send it back.

  Carbon Fibre AFO's

Easy Walk® AFO – a line of new generation standard orthopaedic
orthoses made of carbon fibre through the employment
of Pre-preg technology. They were developed owing to extensive
experience of the Ortho Baltic professionals in the production of
individual orthopaedic footwear and orthoses, and their adaptation
for patients as well as consultations received from the orthopaedists
of Kaunas University of Medicine.
Our orthoses are made of pure carbon fibre; therefore
they are solid, very light (up to 120 grams) and functional. One of
the main advantages of the articles from carbon fibre is that after
they undergo technological treatment a “spring” effect is obtained,
which facilitates walking to a great extent.
Articles from carbon fibre are especially hygienic and do
not cause allergy.
AFO-10A is one of the latest products in the range of Easy
Walk® standard orthopaedic orthoses of Ortho Baltic. Structural
solutions of this model grant the maximum comfort of movement
to a patient and reduce inconveniences caused during the use of
the orthosis to the minimum extent. The orthosis is adapted for
the same size of footwear usually worn by a patient, and owing to
its thin structure it is nearly invisible under clothing.

  Xero Sox Instructions

Measuring for the XeroSox®

1) Measure Limb Circumference
Arm: Measure the circumference of the arm about two inches above (proximal to) the cast or bandage. If the end of the cast is very close to the elbow, measure mid upper arm (bicep).

Do not measure around the cast, but around the bare arm or leg as in the photo.

Leg: Measure the circumference of the leg just above the cast or bandage. If the end of the cast is very close to the knee, measure mid thigh.

2) Measure Length
Arm: Measure from the tip of the middle finger to where the circumference was measured (in step 1).

Leg: Measure from the back of the heel to where the circumference was measured. For younger children the full arm and full leg XeroSox® offer the best fit; measure from their mid bicep or mid thigh. Don't worry if the XeroSox® is longer than it needs to be. Move the extra length to the middle of the limb, the excess material will just shrink in on itself when the vacuum is created.

3) Use Size Charts
Using the size charts select the XeroSox® size that is right for you or your patient.

The circumference is more important than the length because it is critical for a good seal.

*Note the half arms and half legs are not normally used for children. Pediatric patients almost always use full arm or leg XeroSox®.

Xero Sox Wearing Instructions

1. Slide on XeroSox®
Attach the open end of the pump to the outside valve. Stretch on the XeroSox® so that it completely covers the cast or bandage, and an additional inch (25mm) or more of bare skin. The top cuff should be smooth against the skin. Be aware that sharp fiberglass on a cast or a sharp fingernail can rip the XeroSox®. Cover sharp objects with a bandage or a sock with the toe cut out.

3. Slide off
When you are finished using the XeroSox®, lift up the cuff to let the air back in. The XeroSox® should now feel loose. Slide the XeroSox® off.
